Job Overview

Duties
- Create a Warm, Nurturing Environment
Build a classroom community where children feel safe, supported, and confident to explore, take risks, and express themselves.
- Serve as a Positive Role Model
Model kindness, respect, empathy, and responsibility in all interactions, demonstrating the behaviors and values we want children to carry into kindergarten and beyond.
- Guide Children in Behavior Management & Social Skills
Teach and support age-appropriate behavior management techniques, emotional regulation strategies, and problem-solving skills that prepare children for a smooth and successful transition to kindergarten.
- Plan and Implement Engaging Learning Experiences
Design developmentally appropriate, play-based activities that promote social-emotional growth, kindergarten readiness, language development, early math and literacy skills, and creativity.
- Support Social-Emotional Development
Help children navigate big feelings, build friendships, and learn cooperation, empathy, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Communicate Effectively With Families
Build strong partnerships through daily conversations, updates, and meaningful engagement; share progress and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Collaborate With Teammates
Work closely with assistant teachers and colleagues to maintain consistency, support classroom routines, and uphold The Learning Tree’s mission and values.

Strong understanding of early childhood development, behavior guidance techniques, and the social-emotional and academic skills children need for a successful transition to kindergarten.

Required Education and Experience
- A creative and driven spirit, and a commitment to doing whatever it takes for the success of your school
High School Diploma required. Pursuing a CDA Certificate or Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field is a plus but not required.
- Classroom experience a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of New Hampshire Child Care Licensing Regulations
- Current or willing to obtain First Aid & CPR Training and Certificate
- Ability to maintain a growth mindset
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
