Unicorr Packaging Group, a family-owned leading manufacturer of corrugated and protective packaging, seeks a self-motivated and highly energetic Boiler and Starch Room Operator on 1st shift and 2nd shift in our Marlborough, MA facility.
Responsibilities:
· Safely operate the boilers, steam, condensate, make-up water, and similar systems to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
· Maintain, and troubleshoot above systems. This includes all steam and condensate flows, valves, pumps, and controls. Specific areas to be monitored on a continuous basis including boilers (water level and operation), feed water pumps, chemical feed system, water softener, dryers, turbine, and line shaft operation.
· Make batches of starch and verifying starch quality
· Operate water treatment equipment
· Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals
· Maintain a clean and safe work area
· Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
· Follow all written and verbal instructions
· Attend all safety and production trainings
· Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
· Able to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends
Qualifications:
· 2nd Class Fireman’s license
· Industrial Class 2 Wastewater Treatment License (or ability to be trained and pass the test)
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· 2+ years’ experience working in industrial production is strongly preferred
· Flexible schedule and willingness to work on different shifts preferred
· Must be available for weekends/occasional overtime
· Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals
· Basic math, reading, and writing skills
· Basic computer skills
· Good communication skills
· Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines at all times
· Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reaching
· Able to operate large industrial machinery
· Able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
· Able to work 8 hour shifts standing
· Reliable and punctual
