SUMMARY
Drives truck to transport materials to and from hospitals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Deliver clean linen to hospitals, pick up soil linen and return it to the plant according to assigned schedule
· Assist shipping clerk by weighing linen carts until the hospital load is ready
· Load truck and check manifest for proper number of carts
· Keep cab and box clean
· Comply with DOT regulations
· Validate load by utilizing load sheets and checking the cart bar codes
· Report any issues to supervisor, including carts of soil left at hospital, mechanical issues, etc.
· Log into telemetry (GPS) system in the truck after starting truck
· Wears UHS approved uniform
· Uses proper PPE when handling soiled linen

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before small groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Possession of valid operator’s license.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to wear steel toed shoes.
