The Ticketing Services Representative is a key member of the TSO’s frontline staff. The Representative demonstrates the highest levels of service in all interactions with patrons during the sale of tickets and supports the Director of Ticketing Services and Patron Data in providing a friendly, customer-service–oriented box office.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist patrons’ purchase of tickets over the telephone, in person, and online using TM Archtics and TM1 Sales ticketing software
- Present a positive and welcoming first impression to patrons and other guests, both on the phone and in person at all venues, including directing visitors at the Tucson Symphony Center reception desk to other parties in the office
- Provide patrons with expedient responses to requests and problems, using a broad, precise knowledge of Tucson Symphony Orchestra’s performances, policies and services
- Discuss other offerings and upcoming events with patrons to encourage additional sales and/or donations
- Provide quality customer service by responding in a timely manner to walk-in customers, phone calls, or emails
- Suggestively sell tickets to both incoming callers and during outbound sales calls
- Process complimentary ticket orders, including receipt of proper authorization
- Enter patron and sales data accurately and completely into TM Archtics, meeting strict data integrity guidelines
- Reconcile cash and check receipts daily and at the end of each event
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the box office
Preferable Skills and Qualifications
- Customer service, sales, and/or call center experience
- Passion for music and the ability to speak knowledgeably about the music the Tucson Symphony Orchestra performs
- Regular availability for the following shifts (although individual shift assignments may vary, these times represent key shifts that will need coverage on a regular basis): Sundays 11:00 am to 4:00 pm; Tuesdays 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; Fridays 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; Fridays 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm; Saturdays 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; Saturdays 11:00 am to 4:00 pm; Saturdays 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent customer service, communication skills & phone etiquette
- Attention to details a MUST
- Accurate in keyboarding and data entry skills
- Able to conduct financial transactions and make change
- Ability to remain pleasant during challenging situations
- Proficient in Windows-based computer software
- Ability to quickly learn ticketing software
- Reliable transportation (including licensing and insurance), including mid-shift travel to, and work from, performance venues including (but not limited to) the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall at Tucson Convention Center and Catalina Foothills High School
- Availability to work both daytime shifts at Tucson Symphony Center and nights and weekends at performance venues for events and concerts
- Ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision

Hours: 0–20 hours per week
- This position works varying hours throughout the year and weekly hours may vary from 0–20 hours depending upon seasonal workload
- In addition to daytime work hours, evening and weekend work is required, particularly during the September–May concert season. More hours will be scheduled during daytime office hours during subscription renewal periods, typically February–April
- Reduced or no work hours during months when no performances are scheduled, typically June– August

Compensation: $17-18 per hour
