Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, debris, and other bulk loads to various job sites. Your expertise in truck driving, route management, and load handling will ensure timely deliveries and efficient operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction, landscaping, or waste management projects while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles, including roll-off trucks and flatbeds, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Load and unload materials accurately using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods when necessary
- Follow designated routes efficiently, adjusting plans as needed to meet project deadlines
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Maintain detailed logs of deliveries, routes traveled, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers regarding delivery schedules and any delays or issues
- Assist with loading materials onto trucks and securing loads properly for safe transportation
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or roll-off trucks in a commercial setting
- Proficiency in manual transmission vehicle operation is preferred
- Knowledge of route driving, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols for heavy-duty vehicles
- Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts or refrigerated trailers when needed
- Strong understanding of freight handling, including flatbed and tanker loads if applicable
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and punctuality
