Job Description
Overview
Join a high-acuity Cardiac Med-Surg/Telemetry unit within a large acute-care hospital serving the Panama City region. This team cares for cardiovascular medical-surgical patients including heart failure, chest-pain rule-out, post-procedure non-ICU cases, and arrhythmia monitoring. RNs collaborate closely with cardiology, ED, and inpatient teams to deliver safe, timely, and patient-centered cardiac care.
Responsibilities
Perform focused cardiac assessments and continuous telemetry monitoring.
Identify and escalate changes in patient condition promptly.
Administer medications safely; document responses; follow evidence-based standards.
Coordinate care with providers, charge nurses, case management, and ancillary teams.
Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
Support safety initiatives (fall prevention, infection control, accurate handoffs).
Promote unit throughput, discharge readiness, and strong patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Required:
Active Florida RN license (or Compact with FL conversion).
Recent acute care RN experience:
BLS (AHA) — required within 30 days of hire.
Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing (ASN/ADN).
