Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of deli foods with precision, including slicing meats, cheeses, and other fresh ingredients while adhering to food safety standards.
- Operate POS systems Toast to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Manage food service customer orders by providing prompt, friendly service and upselling additional products to enhance the customer experience.
- Maintain a clean workspace by regularly sanitizing surfaces, properly storing food items, and ensuring sanitation standards are met throughout your shift.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including slicers, ovens, and other food preparation tools, following all safety protocols.
- Handle cash register operations, process cash transactions, and accurately process credit/debit card payments using POS systems.
- Assist in inventory management by restocking deli items as needed and monitoring product freshness to uphold quality standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food preparation or food service environments such as quick service restaurants or grocery stores is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with POS systems like Toast for sales processing.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and ability to upsell products effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper handling of food products.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing.
- Previous retail or grocery store experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
