Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fireplace Installer / Technician to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of construction, including carpentry, masonry, and installation of fireplaces and related components. A fireplace technician installs, inspects, cleans, and repairs wood, gas, and electric fireplaces, stoves, and chimney systems. They ensure heating units operate safely, efficiently, and meet local building codes. Daily duties include troubleshooting electrical and gas components, clearing blockages, and advising customers on proper maintenance.
Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of reading blueprints and schematics to execute installations accurately. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects utilizing a wide range of construction skills and tools.

Key Responsibilities
- Install fireplaces, stoves, mantels, stone and related components according to blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively during installations
- Perform framing, trim carpentry, drywall work, caulking, and finishing tasks as needed
- Conduct plumbing and electrical connections in compliance with codes and standards
- Ensure proper sealing, insulation, and finishing for aesthetic appeal and safety
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to meet project timelines
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times
- Troubleshoot installation issues on-site and make necessary adjustments or repairs
- Inspections & Cleaning: Perform routine cleaning and safety inspections of fireboxes, flue liners, and chimneys per NFPA and CSIA standards.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Inspect gas lines, pilot lights, ignition systems, and remote controls for gas inserts. Test draft performance to prevent smoke spillage.
- Repairs & Replacements: Replace damaged parts (like fans, thermocouples, and refractory panels). Perform minor masonry or exterior chimney repairs.
- Customer Education: Advise homeowners on proper fireplace usage, maintenance, and potential safety code violations.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
