ATC Locums is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C) for a rewarding locum opportunity at a premier heart hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. This assignment is ideal for an experienced surgical PA who thrives in the operating room, enjoys first-assist responsibilities, and is confident performing endoscopic or open vein harvesting while supporting a busy cardiothoracic surgery service.

Opportunity Highlights
- Location: Lincoln, Nebraska
- Practice Setting: Hospital-based Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Coverage Dates:
- July 20–26, 2026
- August 7–9, 2026
- August 12–16, 2026
- Schedule: Continuous 7:00 AM–7:00 AM coverage blocks with overnight call
- $1600 for 24 hours of call with $220 per hour after 4 hours of patient contact
- Ongoing Availability: Additional coverage opportunities may become available
- EMR: Epic
- Support Staff: Collaborative cardiothoracic surgeons, operating room team, anesthesia, and hospital clinical staff
Clinical Responsibilities
- First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures
- Perform vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafting
- Assist with a variety of cardiothoracic surgery cases
- Provide overnight call coverage, including telephone consultation and emergent operating room cases
- Deliver high-quality perioperative care in a collaborative surgical environment
Qualifications
- Board-Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Active Nebraska license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)/Letter of Qualification process, as applicable
- Demonstrated cardiothoracic surgery experience
- Vein harvesting experience is required
- Epic experience preferred
- Clean malpractice history preferred
