American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-risk Labor & Delivery position in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and AWHONN certifications for a 13-week night shift contract.

High-risk Labor & Delivery unit within a 407-bed Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma, acute care hospital recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska

Unit includes 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
-
Average daily deliveries of approximately 7, with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
-
OB Triage averages 4–5 third trimester testing patients plus additional triage patients daily
-
Patient ratios range from 5–10 in OB Triage/Testing and 7–14 in LD/Antepartum
-
13-week contract, Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30); most likely straight nights, though schedule may rotate between nights and days every 4 weeks if coverage is needed

Every other weekend required

No on-call requirements

Floating to like units within the state may be required to meet facility needs

Block scheduling is not available

Charting is done in Epic

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Active Alaska (AK) RN license currently in hand

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, and NRP

Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Charge nurse experience preferred; willingness to train in a charge role may be considered

Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty and setting

Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Former permanent staff of this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler

All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

RTO is approved on an individual basis and must be disclosed upfront; minimal RTO is strongly preferred

All required certifications must be current and available for consideration
