A.J. Manufacturing, Inc., a leading manufacturer of doors and windows for various industries, is currently seeking a dedicated Shuttle Driver to join our team. In this position, you would be responsible for transporting materials and products between plants, customer, and vendor locations. Manually loading and unloading trucks with a forklift or pallet jack. You will be completing all required paperwork and be asked to follow all company and state and federal transportation rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Transport materials/products between buildings
- Load and unload shuttle truck with forklift or pallet jack and secure the load
- Unload trailers and put away all products and materials
- Move trailers as needed
- Place propane tank on the back of the forklift
- Complying with state and federal rules and regulations
- Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
- Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection reports
- Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
- Reporting defects, accidents, and violations
- Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)
- Verifying loads for accuracy, fill out all needed paperwork
- Interacting with internal and external customers in a professional manner
- Good communication skills
EXPERIENCE
- Valid Class – A CDL required, able to maintain all CDL requirements
- 53 ft tractor/trailer experience - preferred

- Sitting, continuously sitting (i.e. while driving the truck and forklift)
- Step climbing into truck, occasionally (truck steps at 25”, 34”, 47”; Semi-trailer steps at 24” and 45” with a handle)
- Standing and walking occasionally (i.e. unloading and loading truck)
- Dynamic pushing-pulling 25-60# of force up to 25 feet, occasionally (i.e. moving freight on the truck, sliding on the ground, or using a dolly)
- Elevated work, occasionally (i.e. hook up trailer cords, place load bar)
- Floor to 72” of 20#, occasionally (i.e. load bar)
- Waist to chest lift 75#, tipping out patio door for loading 3 panel patio doors
- Squatting, occasionally (i.e. transferring freight)
- Standing forward bending, occasionally (i.e. transferring freight, 5th wheel pin)
- Bilateral hand coordination and gripping for driving the truck, general truck maintenance, unloading/loading, continuously
- Cranking dolly 95-100# of force required to move dolly handle in high gear while lifting loaded trailer. 13# of force required to move dolly handle in low gear while lifting loaded trailer
