Overview
Carolina Reaper Stars, an adidas Jr. 3SSB girls basketball program, is seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about basketball and interested in developing their coaching skills. This opportunity is designed for aspiring coaches who want hands-on experience learning how to teach the game, develop athletes, run practices, and build a strong team culture within a competitive basketball environment.
The Assistant Coach Development Program provides the opportunity to learn directly from experienced coaches while gaining valuable experience in player development, practice organization, game preparation, and team leadership. Whether you are a former player looking to transition into coaching, a young coach building your resume, or someone passionate about mentoring athletes, this role provides a pathway to grow as a coach.
As part of Carolina Reaper Stars, you will be exposed to the standards of an adidas Jr. 3SSB program while helping develop the next generation of female athletes in the Charlotte area.
Duties
- Assist with practices focused on player development, fundamentals, basketball IQ, and team concepts.
- Learn and apply coaching techniques from experienced Carolina Reaper Stars staff.
- Support the implementation of offensive and defensive systems.
- Assist with skill instruction, drills, and athlete development sessions.
- Gain experience in practice planning, game preparation, and tournament operations.
- Provide encouragement, mentorship, and positive leadership to student-athletes.
- Assist coaches with player evaluations and tracking athlete growth.
- Learn effective communication strategies with players, parents, and coaching staff.
- Support teams during practices, tournaments, and competitive events.
- Represent Carolina Reaper Stars with professionalism, energy, and a commitment to growth.
Experience
- No extensive coaching experience required; this opportunity is designed for individuals looking to develop as coaches.
- Playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or competitive basketball level is preferred but not required.
- Passion for basketball and a desire to learn the coaching profession.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with young athletes.
- Willingness to receive feedback, learn, and grow within the program.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to player development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with experienced coaches and staff.

Pay: $1.00 per hour
