Job Title: Structural Engineer
Location: Lafayette Region
Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 + relo assistance
Summary:
A reputable shipbuilding company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Structural Engineer for their Lafayette Region facility.
Responsibilities:
The ideal Structural Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop detailed 3D structural ship models and create production-ready 2D drawings using SolidWorks, Rhino, and other marine design software.

Design, update, and maintain structural models and drawings to accurately reflect vessel construction and as-built configurations.

Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production teams by providing final structural designs, technical guidance, and engineering support throughout vessel construction.

Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives while helping establish engineering standards, templates, and best practices across vessel programs.
Qualifications:
The ideal Structural Engineer will have the following skill set:
- Degree in Drafting & Design or similar

2+ years of designing and drafting experience in the shipbuilding industry

Experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or Rhino

Must be a US Citizen due to the nature of this role
