Interior Designer / CAD Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION
DMC Design Custom Interiors is seeking a part time detail-oriented Interior Designer proficient in CAD & SketchUp. This role will be supporting other designers as well as managing your own projects from concept through installation. This role blends AutoCAD drafting, SketchUp modeling, 3D visualization, material coordination, and day-to-day collaboration with clients, builders, and trades. Your days will be varied—balancing design development, technical documentation, consultant coordination, construction administration, client interaction, job site visits, and problem-solving.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Collaborate with Principal and other designers on luxury residential projects from concept through installation.
- Produce and/or oversee detailed drawing sets, construction documentation, custom millwork, and technical design packages.
- Develop thoughtful space plans, design concepts, presentations, and furniture, lighting, finish, and material specifications.
- Coordinate contractors, trades, schedules, and day-to-day project activities to keep projects organized and moving forward.
- Participate in site visits, installations, and field coordination while proactively identifying and resolving project challenges.
- Proficiently utilize AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and related software to support project execution and procurement coordination.
- Represent DMC Design Custom Interiors with professionalism and polish when interacting with clients, consultants, and industry partners.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field required.
- 3 -5 years of experience in a high-end residential interior design market is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating on successful residential fast-paced projects from concept through installation.
- Exceptional technical proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, construction documentation, detailing, and custom millwork.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides, and related tools) required.
- Proficiency with Canva
- Experience managing FF&E specifications, schedules, and budgets
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Someone who naturally takes ownership, anticipates next steps, and enjoys creating structure rather than waiting for direction.
- Curious, adaptable, flexible, and excited to contribute within a collaborative small boutique studio.
