Braun Northwest, Inc. is a manufacturer of custom emergency vehicles for EMS and law enforcement. The engineering department supports regulatory compliance, product testing, specification development, pre-construction customer interface, aluminum module design configuration, and manufacturing processes.
This position works hands-on across the product lifecycle, from ideation and testing to supporting manufacturing.
· Research, prototype, and evaluate new technologies, components, and features that improve vehicle performance, safety, durability, and operator usability.
· Develop and execute test plans for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, structural, and integrated vehicle systems, including performance, durability, environmental, vibration, thermal, load, and field testing.
· Support product innovation, safety, durability, reliability, and regulatory compliance across ambulance, law enforcement, and specialty response vehicle platforms.
· Turn unclear technical questions into practical solutions, and communicate them clearly
· Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, service, and leadership to solve technical problems, support product launches, and address field issues.
Essential Functions
· Evaluate prototype, pre-production, and production vehicles to validate performance, safety, durability, compliance, and readiness for release.

· Willingness to conduct field testing and occasional travel as required.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Required Education:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Equivalent engineering experience may be considered for candidates with strong testing, product development, and automotive experience.
Required Experience:
· 3 or more years of experience in product testing, validation, or R&D within automotive, heavy vehicle, or similar manufacturing environments.
· Experience supporting the product development lifecycle from concept, prototype, and testing through production release.
· Hands-on experience with testing equipment, data acquisition systems, diagnostic tools, and measurement methods
· Experience analyzing test results, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions or design improvements.
Preferred Experience:
· Experience working with emergency vehicles, fire apparatus, ambulances, law enforcement vehicles, or specialty response vehicles.
· Knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulations, including NFPA, FMVSS, SAE, or similar requirements.
· Experience with field testing, prototype builds, product validation, or production launch support.
· Experience with vehicle electronics, CAN bus systems, instrumentation, or sensor-based testing.
· Troubleshooting vehicle systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, and integrated components.
· Familiarity with CAD software, engineering design processes, and product development documentation.
· Experience with Excel, Python, MATLAB, C++, CAN bus systems, vehicle electronics, or similar tools is a plus.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
