Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process fuel sales, convenience store purchases, and payments
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product inquiries or product demos when needed
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties responsibly while maintaining accurate cash register balances
- Upsell additional products such as snacks, beverages, or car accessories to increase sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store is tidy and inviting
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer needs politely and professionally while adhering to phone etiquette standards
- Conduct basic math calculations for transactions and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in retail or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail math enhances your ability to succeed in this role
- Supervising experience is a plus for candidates interested in future growth opportunities within the team
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with customers and team members confidently
- Experience in grocery stores or retail sales helps you understand product placement, merchandising, and upselling techniques
