Transportation Driver & Direct Support Professional (DSP/NMT)
The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio is a mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We provide services that promote independence, dignity, and full participation in the community. We are seeking a compassionate, reliable individual for a combined DSP/NMT position, supporting individuals in their homes and providing safe, dependable transportation within the community.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Locations: Lucas and Wood County
Split - Schedules: 7 AM - 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM - 5 PM and 2 weekdays 4 PM - 9 PM
Anticipated Hours: 35 hours a week
Transportation (NMT) Duties

Safely transport individuals to and from home, programs, appointments, and work sites

Assist with safe loading/unloading and supervise passengers during transport

Maintain a clean, sanitary vehicle and complete daily inspections

Keep accurate transportation logs and communicate with team leaders

Follow all Ohio DODD, county board, and transportation regulations

Provide respectful, person-centered support in daily living tasks

Assist with personal care (bathing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, etc.)

Support household tasks such as meal prep, cleaning, and laundry

Engage individuals in social, recreational, and community activities
-
Encourage personal growth and help individuals achieve their goals

Document activities, incidents, and progress accurately

Communicate professionally with team members, families, and clients
Qualifications you need to thrive in this role if you are:

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Must be at least 21 years of age
-
Valid driver’s license
-
Clean and Safe driving record (no more than six points on license)

Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition individuals weighing up to 50 pounds
-
Ability to pass BCI/FBI background checks, physical exam, drug screen
-
CPR/First Aid certification (post-employment)

No CDL required
