Seasonal Position April-January
We are seeking a Train Steward / Hostess to be part of our Scenic Train in creating memorable train excursions to all our passengers at The Historic Mount Hood Railroad. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to engage and interact with passengers of all ages, experience with providing food & beverage table service. This role requires a food handlers permit & OLCC servers permit.
Responsibilities
- Pre-Boarding: Stocking & preparation of the train
- Boarding: help passengers board the correct train car, open & close vestibules
- During Train: Greet & talk to passengers as well as offer table service.
- Take photos
- Hand out complimentary treats
- Layover: Announce layover time and time of reboard, open vestibule & help deboard
- Departure from Layover: Assisting with reboarding / close vestibule
- Greet & talk to passengers on the return trip
- Help Prep/ Stock Train - report to Depot of any reorder needs
- Clean Train & Bathrooms
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages creativity
- Communicate regularly with Depot Staff & Hospitality Staff
- Qualifications
- Strong hospitality skills with the ability to engage with passengers
- Experience with Hospitality or Customer Service
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Table service experience preferred
Train & Tour Schedule Details: Summer:
Tuesday 2pm-6pm
Wednesday 10am-3pm
Thursday 10am-6pm
Friday 10am-3pm
Saturday 10am-6pm
(Fall Train schedule changes)
October 2nd & 3rd: Oktoberfest Train special event
Polar Express Train Nov-Jan (Schedule & role changes)
