Position Overview:
The Part-Time Facilities Associate supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and organization of Enlace Chicago's facilities. This position is responsible for assisting with facility repairs, coordinating maintenance vendors, managing facility inventory, and organizing storage spaces to ensure the organization's buildings remain safe, functional, and efficient. The Facilities Associate works collaboratively across departments to support staff, programs, and community events while maintaining a welcoming environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility and Fleet Maintenance & Repairs

Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance, repair, and safety needs within Enlace Chicago facilities and vehicles.

Complete minor repairs, including painting, basic carpentry, furniture assembly, plumbing, and other general maintenance tasks.

Assist with preventative maintenance projects to ensure facilities remain safe and operational.

Report major repair needs and coordinate follow-up as needed.
Vendor Management

Coordinate and communicate with vendors providing maintenance, janitorial, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, and other facility services.

Monitor vendor performance and verify work is completed according to organizational standards.

Maintain maintenance records, service schedules, and vendor documentation.
Inventory & Storage Management

Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, furniture, equipment, and facility materials.

Monitor inventory levels and recommend purchases or replenishment as needed.

Organize and manage storage rooms to maximize efficiency, accessibility, and safety.

Develop and maintain organized storage systems for program supplies, donated items, equipment, and facilities assets.

Assist departments with storing, locating, and moving materials and equipment as needed.

Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accurate tracking of organizational assets.
Facilities Operations Support

Set up and break down meeting rooms, training spaces, and community event areas.

Support special projects and other operational needs as assigned.

Two or more years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, property management, warehouse operations, or a related field preferred.

Experience coordinating vendors and maintenance contractors.

Experience organizing storage spaces and maintaining inventory systems.

Ability to safely lift and move up to 20 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.

Valid Illinois driver's license preferred.

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is $35.00 per hour.
Benefits:

Paid time off. All part time employees get 1 hour for every 40 hours worked. Additionally they will receive 1 Paid Leave hour for every 35 hours worked.

Retirement program. Enlace Chicago offers a voluntary 403(B) plan to any qualifying long term part time employee. You can contribute any amount to your retirement plan. If you decide to enroll, Enlace will automatically set your contributions to 1% of your wages.
