This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a litigation environment, enjoys supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, and is proactive in keeping cases organized and moving forward.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, and finalize pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
- File and serve documents in California state and federal courts
- Maintain litigation calendars and monitor court deadlines
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and client communications
- Draft shells/templates for pleadings and discovery
- Assist with discovery, including preparing responses, organizing records, and managing document production
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court staff
- Maintain electronic and physical case files
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation and case management
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in civil litigation firm
- Experience with California civil procedure and court filing systems
- Strong knowledge of litigation calendaring and deadlines
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe, and case management software
- Paralegal certificate or ABA-approved paralegal program preferred, but not required
- Experience in civil defense litigation strongly preferred

- Familiarity with discovery procedures and motion practice
- Ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume caseload
- Professional, team-oriented attitude with strong attention to detail
