Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Full-Time Bilingual Medical Secretary to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish possess strong medical office experience, and demonstrate a passion for delivering outstanding patient service.
Duties
- Manage patient appointments, schedule follow-ups, and coordinate clinical workflows using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems prefer eClinicalWorks.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verifications, and handle billing processes including medical collection and Medicare claims.
- Review and update medical records with accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Assist patients at the front desk with check-in/check-out procedures while providing exceptional customer service via phone and in person.
- Utilize office management software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Filecenter to maintain organized filing systems and manage electronic health records efficiently.
- Support clinical staff by handling administrative tasks like intake procedures, medical documentation review, and appointment confirmations.
Skills
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with strong knowledge of health insurance processes including verification
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems PREFER eClinicalWorks
- Excellent bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology across various specialties .
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are upheld at all times.
- Adept at using computer skills including typing (10-key), Microsoft Office applications, multi-line phone systems, and electronic health record management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient service through phone etiquette, front desk support, and care coordination.
