Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to efficiently load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse.
Essential Duties:
- Safely operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and other heavy equipment to load and unload shipments
- Pick and prepare orders accurately using order picker equipment and warehouse management systems
- Manage inbound and outbound shipping & receiving processes with precision and attention to detail
- Conduct routine equipment repairs and mechanical troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of all machinery
- Assist in warehouse distribution tasks, including stacking pallets, organizing inventory, and ensuring proper storage practices
- Support warehouse supervisor in inventory control, cycle counts, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace
- Follow OSHA safety regulations and best practices for heavy equipment operation and materials handling
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse setting
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picking procedures
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
- Basic math skills for inventory counting and measurement tasks
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to forklift operation and materials handling
- Warehouse experience with shipping & receiving processes preferred
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety compliance and quality control
- Valid certification for forklift operation (preferred but not mandatory)
