Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Assistant to support our finance department in person at our Downtown Ft. Lauderdale office. The ideal candidate will have strong data entry accuracy, excellent organizational skills, and experience managing financial records, invoices, and payroll-related processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily bookkeeping activities and keep accounting data input running accurately and efficiently
- Assist with general ledger by recording journal entries, reviewing transactions, and supporting monthly close activities
- Accounts payable processes including billing, payment processing, and follow up
- Prepares data for bank reconciliation statements, credit card activity, and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis to ensure accurate records
- Assist and if necessary, process payroll and properly track related deductions, benefit payments, and retirement contributions
- Assist HR to monitor employee time off
- Assist with preparation of recurring financial statements, ie balance sheets, income statements, and trial balances for leadership to review
- Assisting with year end accounting tasks and assist with gathering information for tax-related and compliance reporting requirements
- Organize and maintain financial files both electronic and hard copy formats for quick retrieval and audit readiness
- Work closely with ownership and internal staff to provide timely financial information and support smooth business operations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting or minimum 5 years experience in a full charge booking role
- Strong hands on experience with Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft excel
- Practical experience managing accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to details, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects
