What You'll Do:
National Health Care Associates Inc., one of the premier providers of LTC and Short-Term Rehabilitation Services in the Northeast and New England, is seeking a Regional Manager of Engineering & Environmental Services. Our skilled nursing facilities will rely on your expertise in building systems and facilities management to ensure all structural and mechanical aspects of the center are well maintained and provide a safe and comfortable healing environment for residents, families, and staff. You will be a resource, consultant, educator, inspector, and leader regarding preventive maintenance, critical system repairs, building improvements and regulatory compliance of the physical plant.
The scope of this role will include various centers of ours in Upstate NY/Vermont and possibly Connecticut and/or Long Island, depending on the location of the chosen candidate.
A company car is provided for personal and professional use including insurance, maintenance and mileage reimbursement for work related travel
Key Responsibilities:
- Ultimate responsibility for all aspects of preventive maintenance, equipment and mechanical system repairs, and improvements to the long-term care center physical plants across an assigned region
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the ongoing operation of critical health care systems and infrastructure
- Educate long-term care center teams and ensure compliance to all building safety, sanitation, and health codes for plumbing, electrical, HVAC and other building systems in a long-term care nursing and rehabilitation facility
- Ensure all applicable life safety, environment of care and fire safety codes including NFPA 101 for healthcare facilities are followed
- Participate in the hiring, training, and performance management of maintenance, building trades, housekeeping and other facilities staff
- Assist in managing facility capital improvement projects, building renovations, and mechanical system upgrades to ensure the buildings, building systems, and properties remain functional over their expected lifespan
- Collaborate with care center staff to address resident needs related to maintenance, housekeeping and the environment of care
What You'll Bring:
Qualifications of a Regional Manager of Engineering & Environmental Services include:
- 7+ years managing maintenance, repair and mechanical system improvement projects in a long-term care nursing and rehabilitation or other healthcare environment
- MUST have thorough knowledge of safety, sanitary, health and fire codes applicable to long-term care facilities and building systems
- Experience or licensed in a building trade (electrician, plumber, HVAC tech, etc.) is required
- Experience in costing, planning and executing capital improvement projects
- 1+ years experience in a multi-site regional role required
- 3+ years managing institutional housekeeping or laundry services
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Ability to lead a decentralized team and influence stakeholders to maintain a safe, functional and clean physical plant
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
