Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Box Truck Driver to join our team as an independent contractor. This role involves operating a box truck to transport goods safely and efficiently across California and neighboring states.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable with long distance driving. You will also assist with loading and unloading shipments while providing excellent service to customers and partners.
Duties
- Drive long distances, including interstate routes within and beyond California (OTR - Multi State Routes)
- Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Assist shippers, warehouse staff, or customers with freight handling as needed
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, receipts, and documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding routes, delays, or issues
- Ensure timely deliveries and maintain a high level of professionalism
- Ability to lift 50–75+ lbs and assist with loading/unloading
- Comfortable driving long distances and working independently
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
Requirements
- Valid standard Driver’s License (Non-CDL)
- Clean driving record (no major violations)
- Clean background check required
- Must pass drug screening
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (50–75+ lbs)
- Willingness to assist with loading/unloading shipments
- Comfortable driving long distances and working independently
- Strong time management and reliability
- Basic knowledge of GPS/navigation systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience driving a box truck or similar vehicle
- Experience with interstate or long-haul routes
- Familiarity with delivery documentation or logistics systems
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles
Compensation
- $25/hour – consistent earning potential

Pursuant to California pay transparency laws, Elite Loads Logistics provides a good faith compensation estimate for this role. Compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, driving record, route assignments (local vs. long-distance), and business needs at the time of engagement.
Compensation for this role is expected to be: $25.00 per hour
Final compensation is determined based on the individual contractor’s qualifications and the specific services performed.
