Our busy Worcester law office is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Legal Intern/Legal Assistant to provide administrative and legal support in a fast-paced legal environment. This position is ideal for a college student, law student, or individual interested in gaining practical experience in a law office. The successful candidate must be dependable, maintain strict confidentiality, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process legal billing and time entries.
- Proofread legal correspondence, pleadings, contracts, and other legal documents for accuracy, grammar, formatting, and consistency.
- Organize, maintain, and file physical and electronic client files.
- Assist with document preparation, scanning, copying, and document management.
- Perform general office and administrative duties, including answering phones, greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence.
- Assist attorneys with case organization and other administrative tasks as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information and legal matters.
- Support office operations to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent proofreading, grammar, spelling, and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Experience in a legal office is preferred but not required.
- Enrollment in or completion of coursework related to law, business, or paralegal studies is a plus.
