JOB Learning Assistants are expected to attend an assigned section of a math class to assist students with activities, attend paid trainings, tutor students outside of class, attend weekly meetings with other SLCC Learning Assistants, and attend a weekly pedagogy class. Students may set their own schedule for tutoring students outside of class time. Expected weekly hours are 10-15. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Attend classes with students to establish connection/bonding with the instructors and the students.

Assist with classroom activities.

Provie quality learning assistance to students enrolled in an assigned section of a math class.

Assist instructors with one-on-one planning meetings to ensure that students are remaining engaged and absorbing material.

Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, and build confidence in students.

Work with students in groups providing support and structure in project-based assignments and work with math manipulative classroom aides.

Teach students study skills, note-taking techniques, and test-taking strategies as needed.

Participate in training, development opportunities, and other events when available.

Maintain regular communication with your supervisor and other Learning Assistants.

Attend required weekly meeting with the instructor(s) and other Learning Assistants.

Knowledge of mathematics through College Algebra
