SUMMARY:
The Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) is responsible for maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment in the program with an emphasis on quality service and ensuring health and safety of the program. This position also conducts a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities in supporting the day-to-day operations, resident support and services provided by the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides daily resident support in collaboration with clinical and case management teams.
- Responsible for ensuring residents follow the daily schedule including, but not limited to, times for groups, meals, medications, free time, waking and bedtimes.
- Oversees the self-administration of medications by residents as necessary and completes all medication self-administration documentation accurately.
- Assists with admission and discharge procedures as needed, including, but not limited to searches of residents and their belongings, collecting urine samples, reviewing medications, orienting new residents and assisting them in settling into the program.
- Conducts regular head counts and resident safety checks as directed.
- Reminds residents of the rules and guides them in following requirements of the program; reports behavioral issues to the clinical and/or management team.
- Assists with meal set-up, serving, cleanup, food deliveries, food storage, maintaining temperatures on delivered meals and ensuring ample snacks and drinks available to residents throughout the day.
- Provides transportation for residents as needed.
- Assists with minor cleaning, organizing, and other tasks to help ensure a professional-looking program environment.
- Facilitates non-clinical groups and recovery support activities under the direction and guidance of the Clinical Supervisor according to program schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS ANDEXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Some professional or lived experience working with people suffering from substance use or mental health conditions is strongly preferred; other human service experience may be substituted
- Experience working in a residential or inpatient setting is desirable, but not required
- Must have basic ability in use of computers to be able make entries and utilize electronic health records
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record for the past 3 years
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
