You arrive, review work orders, and stage plate. You load programs, verify consumables, and bring a CNC burn table to life—switching between oxy-fuel and plasma as jobs demand. Throughout the shift, you’ll keep an eye on cut quality, optimize nests for yield, and keep production humming safely and smoothly.

Operate CNC-controlled plasma and oxy-fuel equipment to cut steel to exact customer specifications

Perform flame cutting with oxygen and gas on material from 1 3/8” to 10” thick

Run plasma on plate from 1/8” to 1 1/4” thick

Interpret work orders and drawings; set up machines for quality and throughput

Verify material grade via color-coding standards

Hold tight tolerances using tape measure and calipers; confirm cut quality

Troubleshoot and make basic machine adjustments
-
Handle material safely using forklift & overhead crane
-
Record and complete all pre- and post-shift preventive maintenance

Keep cutting surface and work area orderly and in good condition

Follow direction from Supervisors and Shift Leads; adhere to cutting practices and safety procedures

Pitch in on other duties as needed to help the team win

High school diploma or GED (engineering-related certificate/diploma is a plus)

1–3 years operating basic CNC machinery; prior plasma/laser/oxy experience helpful

Mechanical aptitude, quality mindset, and the ability to read a tape measure

Reliable, punctual, and a clear communicator

Willingness to work overtime, including on short notice when needed
Our shop environment includes consistent exposure to noise, chemicals, and typical manufacturing materials. This is a hands-on role that requires prolonged standing and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
