TITLE: Full Time Special Needs Paraprofessional- (Kindergarten Level)
REPORTS TO: Elementary Principal
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full time (10 month employee) w/benefits
HOURS: Monday-Friday 7:15 am- 3:15 pm
RATE OF PAY: $17.38 – $19.39 per hour (Depending on education and experience)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required: Associates degree or ETS ParaPro Assessment Certificate.
- Preferred: Experience working with special needs students in an educational capacity.
- Preferred: Experience supervising students in the classroom, during lunch, and at recess.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide one to one direct assistance to special needs students for academic tasks, mobility, feeding, and
personal care needs.
- Supervise special needs students in the classroom, during lunch, and at recess.
- Accept additional tasks, projects or assignments as assigned.
- Complete required documentation as assigned.
- Assist the special education teacher and general education teacher as needed.
ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the
workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
- In accordance with state law and board policy, no person shall be hired to work in contact with children
prior to being fingerprinted and passing a criminal records review and drug screening.
