Job Overview:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting team in executing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and upholding the company’s strict standards for financial accuracy, internal controls, and patient/financial data confidentiality. This role will assist with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and report preparation as part of the monthly close process, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness. The position will require daily use of Sage Intacct as the company’s primary accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals and variance analyses. Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts, identifying discrepancies and ensuring timely resolution
- Support preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other deliverables required by management, investors, and lenders
- Prepare schedules and support fieldwork for annual financial audit.
- Maintain documentation to support audit requirements, including compliance with SOX-like internal accounting controls, where applicable.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring internal controls designed to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist with preparation of schedules for federal and state tax returns
- Provide accounting support for mergers and acquisitions, including assisting with integration of financial controls and procedures.
- Uphold company policies regarding confidentiality and privacy including HIPAA-related standards when managing any data connected to oncology practice operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate financial data while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Perform additional ad hoc analysis and accounting projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 2-3 years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with Sage Intacct (preferred) or other ERP/accounting systems.
- Familiarity with internal control procedures and audit readiness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office products.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with attentiveness to detail.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and privacy regarding sensitive financial and patient-related information.
- Desire to grow within a private equity–backed healthcare services organization.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to multi-entity accounting environments.
- Experience assisting with mergers and acquisitions, particularly in AP/vendor system conversions.
- Background in the healthcare services industry, preferably within physician practice management or oncology.
- Prior work in a private equity–backed organization or high-growth environment.
- Familiarity with audit preparation and investor reporting requirements.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- This role is primarily performed in an office setting with extended periods of computer use.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and operate a computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds may be required for files, records, or office supplies.
- Position may require extended hours during month-end and year-end close periods.
- Must adhere to all company workplace safety, security, and compliance protocols.
- Occasional travel to practice sites, corporate offices, or external auditor meetings may be required.
