The Deputy Director is a temporary administrative position established to assist the Executive Director with the day-to-day management and operation of the Housing Authority during a period of leadership transition. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Deputy Director provides administrative support, oversight of assigned functions, guidance, and mentoring to ensure continuity of operations and compliance with Board policies, State and Federal laws, and Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations. The position is intended to provide additional management support and may be discontinued when the Board of Commissioners determines the assistance is no longer needed. In the absence of the Executive Director, the Deputy Director may serve as Acting Executive Director as authorized by the Board.
Requirements:
Considerable knowledge of Housing Authority policies and procedures; considerable knowledge of HUD regulations and housing programs; knowledge of budgeting, financial management, personnel administration, and public administration; ability to supervise and mentor employees; ability to prepare clear and concise reports, directives, and correspondence; ability to establish effective working relationships with residents, employees, Board members, government officials, and the general public; ability to exercise sound judgment and provide administrative leadership during periods of transition.
Pay: From $30,000.00 per year
