Job Title: Production Supervisor
Job Description
This role leads daily operations within a production department, driving output, quality, and safety while fostering a positive, high-performance team culture. You will oversee staffing, scheduling, and workflow, monitor key production metrics, and coordinate with cross-functional partners to optimize processes and ensure consistent, efficient delivery of production schedules.
Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop production team members to achieve output, quality, and safety targets.

Coordinate daily manufacturing activities, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization to meet production schedules consistently and efficiently.

Serve as the primary point of leadership during the shift, ensuring smooth operations and timely resolution of issues on the production floor.

Monitor production metrics such as labor, scrap, and output, and take proactive action to improve performance and reduce waste.

Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to enhance processes, tooling, and overall efficiency.

Ensure strict compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality expectations across the department.

Support training initiatives to ensure the team is properly trained, engaged, and operating safely.

Contribute to performance management efforts, including feedback, coaching, and development planning for team members.

Promote employee engagement by building a positive work environment and encouraging open communication.

Maintain accurate and timely reporting on production performance, team performance, and key operational indicators.

Proactively identify issues on the production floor, troubleshoot root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.

Facilitate strong communication and handoffs across shifts and departments to maintain continuity of operations.

Oversee assembly, manufacturing, and distribution-related activities within the department, ensuring alignment with process improvement goals.
Essential Skills

Minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Demonstrated production supervision and production management experience in high-volume settings.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and interact effectively across all levels of the organization.

Proven ability to manage schedules, people, and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Solid organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Mechanical aptitude and a strong understanding of safety best practices in industrial environments.

Experience with process improvement in manufacturing, production, or distribution settings.

Hands-on experience overseeing assembly and industrial production operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience using production metrics such as labor, scrap, and output to drive performance improvements.

Familiarity in coordinating cross-functional efforts with engineering and operations teams.

Comfort working with tools, machinery, and production equipment in an industrial setting.

Work Environment
The role is based in a fast-paced industrial production setting, where you will be on your feet and moving throughout the shift, which may extend up to 12 hours. You must be able to lift up to 45 pounds independently, with team lifting required for heavier items. The environment includes varying temperatures and frequent use of hands, tools, and production equipment. You will work directly on the production floor, closely engaged with manufacturing, assembly, and distribution activities, in a setting that emphasizes safety and efficient, hands-on operations.

This is a Permanent position based out of Lawrence, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $61327.00 - $83718.00/yr.
Benefits include Medical/Dental/Vision, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays from day one, tuition reimbursement, and a 401k plan (with an automatic 3% company contribution, regardless of your contribution after your first year of employment) among others.
