Hourly Salary Range: $24.32 - $35.86
The successful candidate’s placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role

DESCRIPTION
This position performs legal, clerical, technical, and administrative tasks, including preparing and retaining City Council meeting documents and assisting with referendum and election matters. Manage agendas, maintain public records, prepare legal advertising, and ensure efficient workflow in the agenda management system. Processes payroll, provides notary services, manages budget reports, and supports interdepartmental and public inquiries.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- ¿¿Processes, copies, distributes, files, and organizes ordinances, resolutions, and contracts from City Council meetings. Records copies with Maricopa County when required.¿
- ¿¿Monitors, reviews, and assists with public record requests, emails received to the City Clerk inbox, and other requests such as claims, lawsuits, and subpoenas.¿
- ¿¿Digitizes, uploads, and organizes documentation. ¿
- ¿¿Records minutes for meetings the City Clerk holds and attends.¿
- ¿¿Prepares payroll documents.¿
- ¿¿Purchases, verifies, prepares requisitions, and reconciles credit card statements for supplies. ¿
- ¿¿Prepares monthly budget reports. Analyzes and compiles departments’ annual budget.¿
- ¿Drafts and submits agenda items for pre-legal advertising and post-meeting legal advertising for publishing. Ensure deadlines are met in compliance with applicable laws mandate.
- May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
¿¿Requires 1 year of experience¿ in administrative, court reporting, records management, legal writing, or related experience.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal one-year increments for college-level education (2 additional years for an associate degree and 4 additional years for a bachelor’s degree).
Professional Licensure and/or Certifications:
Arizona Notary Public Commission Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.¿
