Duties
- Greet clients warmly upon arrival, creating a friendly and professional first impression.
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing the clinic’s calendar using veterinary software.
- Handle medical collections accurately, ensuring proper billing and payment processing in compliance with veterinary and financial protocols.
- Manage front desk operations, including answering phones, responding to client inquiries, and providing information about pet care services.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions, medical histories, and treatment plans in accordance with veterinary terminology standards.
- Assist with animal handling and restraint during check-ins or when clients bring in pets for procedures or boarding.
- Support veterinary staff with administrative tasks such as filing, lab sample processing, and inventory management of supplies related to animal husbandry and clinical procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care environment, including familiarity with veterinary software systems.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical-surgical procedures, and companion animal medicine.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners.
- Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques; kennel experience is a plus.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for record keeping and communication purposes.
- Knowledge of drug enforcement regulations (DEA) and USDA regulations relevant to veterinary practice is desirable.
- Experience with dog handling, animal restraint, and pet grooming enhances your ability to support clinical activities effectively.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, animal catheterization, aseptic techniques, and veterinary critical care practices is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks related to front desk operations and animal care.
