Job Summary
The Rescue Assistant serves as the primary liaison between the Veterinary Clinic and local animal rescue organizations and Animal Shelters / Controls. This role is responsible for coordinating medical care, scheduling, communication and record management for rescue patients while ensuring a high level of customer service and efficient workflow within the Clinic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate appointments, surgeries and follow-up are for partner groups.
- Serve as the main point of contact for partner groups regarding patient care, scheduling and medical updates.
- Maintain accurate medical records, invoices, and documentation for rescue patients.
- Communicate treatment plans, estimates and discharge instructions with rescue representatives.
- Work closely with Veterinarians and assistants to prioritize urgent and routine rescue cases.
- Ensure all required paperwork, vaccination records, and adoptable health certificates are completed accurately and timely.
- Communicate with partner groups about their hospitalized patients.
- Help maintain a clean, organized and efficient work environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to improving workflows and client service.
- Perform other administrative or patient-care support duties as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Previous experience in a Veterinary setting, Animal Shelter or rescue organization is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with computer software, including Google Workspace is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Compassion for animals is a must!
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
There will be times that you are required to assist with lifting, holding or restraining an animal. You must be comfortable around animals.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
