Job description:
ITL is a fast-growing manufacturer and distributor of maritime defense and commercial equipment. We are looking for a US Navy Subject Matter Expert in Hampton Roads, Virginia to support the Fleet. The position will visit military and commercial ships, shipyards and suppliers primarily in the Norfolk, Virginia area with some travel to support several product lines focused on Navy engineering functions as well as work to identify shipboard challenges and develop solutions to those problems.
Candidates with US Navy engineering experience are preferred. Background and reference checks will be conducted, and ethics is a part of annual performance appraisals.
Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position is not open to foreign nationals or non-US citizens.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of Navy Engineering and Maintenance for Defense opportunities
- Read and evaluate Naval blueprints and drawings
- Develops business relationships, facilitates proposal development, manages resources, coordinates detailed documentation
- Provide cross-departmental coordination on large scale projects and opportunities
- Proactively identifies and pursues qualified business opportunities through market research, RFI/RFQ response, networking, and prospecting
- Manages new customer relationships and maintains consistent customer service while transitioning new business to project managers
- 25% travel required
Qualifications:
- 20+ years of Military Experience in Navy Engineering
- Knowledge of Navy/Maritime fluid transfer and high pressure air systems
- Operational knowledge of and practical use of the Microsoft Office Suite, preferably MS word and Excel
- Familiarization with the development of White Papers and/or Military Technical writing techniques.
- A Valid Drivers’ license.
- Ability to gain access to and drive aboard Federal Government /Military Installations.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
