Available Shifts: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM OR 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (Includes a 1-hour lunch break)
Classroom Ratio: 2 Staff Members to 24 Children (2:24)
About the Role
Primrose School of Leawood is seeking a passionate, nurturing, and experienced Private Kindergarten Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be working alongside a supportive Co-Teacher in a collaborative environment. You will have plenty of help, guidance, and leadership support at our school to ensure both you and your students thrive!
Key Responsibilities
- Co-Teaching: Partner effectively with a co-teacher to manage a classroom of up to 24 Kindergarten children, maintaining a safe and engaging 2:24 ratio.
- Curriculum Delivery: Deliver Primrose Schools' high-quality curriculum, fostering a positive, structured, and fun learning environment.
- Parent Communication: Build strong relationships and connect positively with parents regarding their child's daily progress and development.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the classroom meets all Kansas state licensing requirements and Primrose Schools' premium standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- State Licensing: Must meet all teacher requirements stipulated by the Kansas state licensing agency (KDHE).
- Health Compliance: Must complete and follow the KDHE health assessment, including a negative TB test.
- Experience:
- Must have previous experience as a classroom teacher working directly with children (Kindergarten age group experience is highly desirable).
- Demonstrated ability to relate positively to both young children and their parents.
- Standards & Training: Must meet Primrose Schools’ overall standards and be willing to accumulate ongoing required annual training hours as mandated by state licensing and the corporate office.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. to safely handle children during daily programs, child safety maneuvers, and potential emergency situations.
