We are seeking dedicated and experienced Registered Nurses to join our team caring for a medically complex young adult in the home setting.
About the Case
This is a high-acuity private-duty nursing case for a medically fragile 97lb young adult with:
- Quadriplegia (C1-C4 Spinal Cord Injury)
- Tracheostomy
- Recently Placed GJ Tube
- History of TPN
- Severe Protein-Calorie Malnutrition
- Gastrointestinal Dysmotility
- Neurogenic Bowel and Bladder
- Colostomy
- Chronic Respiratory Complications
- Contractures
- Chronic Wounds Requiring Ongoing Assessment and Care
- History of Sepsis
The patient recently underwent GJ tube placement and requires close monitoring of feeding tolerance, hydration status, respiratory status, skin integrity, and overall medical condition.
Responsibilities
- Skilled nursing assessments
- GJ tube care and management
- Medication administration
- Wound assessment and wound care
- Tracheostomy care and suctioning as needed
- Monitoring feeding tolerance and hydration status
- Skin integrity and pressure injury prevention
- Documentation and communication with family and care team
- Monitoring for signs of infection and other complications
QualificationsRequired:
- Active Georgia RN License
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Pediatric or home health nursing experience
- Experience with enteral feeding devices (G-tube/GJ tube)
Preferred:
- Wound care experience
- Trach care experience
- Experience with TPN and central line management
- Experience with medically complex pediatric or young adult patients
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Schedule
- Up to 84 hours available weekly
- 12-hour day shifts
- Multiple nurses needed
- Flexible scheduling based on family needs and nurse availability
