Control Systems Engineer
Position Summary
The Control Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, development, integration, and implementation of electronic control systems and wiring harnesses for custom-engineered products. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver reliable, efficient, and compliant mobile control solutions. The position offers hands-on involvement with both hardware and software in a dynamic, project-driven environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Design, develop, and implement electronic control systems for custom mobile products and applications.
- Create, modify, and maintain wiring schematics and wiring harness designs.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot mobile controllers and related control hardware.
- Integrate control systems with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and software components.
- Test, debug, and validate control systems to ensure functionality, safety, quality and performance standards are met.
- Support manufacturing and field teams during system build, installation, and commissioning.
- Diagnose and resolve control system issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including drawings, revisions, software and system descriptions/specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical or Controls Engineering, or a related field of study.
- Experience with control systems, including controllers, sensors and actuators.
- Proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mobile controls systems programming software
- Experience creating harness and schematic diagrams
- Familiarity with applicable electrical and safety standards (e.g., NEC, UL).
- Experience supporting manufacturing or field installations.

Typical office working conditions. Occasionally exposed to heat/cold, dust, noise, and welding fumes when working in plant.
