Position Overview
AMS is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Accounting & Office Manager to support the day-to-day accounting, payroll, office administration, and human resources functions of our growing company.
This is a hands-on role rooted in accounting and is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background who enjoys working in a small business environment where every day is different. The right candidate will have the opportunity to expand their experience across accounting, payroll, HR, and business operations while growing into increased responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Desktop.
- Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and cash flow tracking.
- Support annual audits and work with outside accounting partners as needed.
- Assist with work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and other financial reporting.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Payroll & Human Resources
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation.
- Assist with employee benefits administration and annual open enrollment.
- Support HR functions, including policy administration, employee records, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate workers' compensation reporting and OSHA recordkeeping.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
Office Administration
- Support the day-to-day administrative operations of the office.
- Manage office supply inventory and vendor relationships.
- Assist with insurance renewals, business licenses, and corporate records.
- Coordinate company documentation and maintain organized filing systems.
- Provide administrative support to company leadership on special projects and operational initiatives.
- Serve as a professional point of contact for employees, customers, vendors, and business partners.

Qualifications
- 3–7 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or office management experience preferred.
- Experience using QuickBooks Desktop.
- Experience processing weekly payroll.
- Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
- Experience working in a small business environment where you've worn multiple hats.
- Experience supporting human resources functions such as employee onboarding, personnel records, or employee benefits administration preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial and employee information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will also be considered.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
