Job Description
An elementary paraprofessional supports teachers by providing classroom management, individualized student instruction, and behavioral assistance. A paraprofessional reinforce lessons for small groups or one-on-one, supervise students during non-instructional times (recess/lunch), and assist with personal care, special education needs (IEPs), or clerical tasks.
Instructional Support:

Implementing teacher-planned lessons, working with small groups or individual students, and providing targeted interventions.

Co-teaching lessons under the Teacher's guidance, individual instruction and discussions, and reviewing classwork.

Organizing the classroom and teaching materials, monitoring the classroom during lessons, and minimizing distractions and disruptions.
Classroom Management
-
Maintaining an orderly, safe, and positive learning environment, including managing behavior and organizing materials.
Supervision
-
Monitoring students during lunch, recess, assemblies, and in hallways.
Student Support
-
Assisting students with special needs, including following IEPs, BIPs, or 504 plans, and providing personal care such as lifting, feeding, or hygiene needs.
Qualifications
-
Associates Degree or 60 hours of college credit from an accredited college/ university. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Demonstrates knowledge of subjects assigned, educational and child/adolescent , and classroom management.

Prior related job experience required.

Demonstrates competence for assigned responsibilities.

Possesses positive interpersonal relations skills.

Commitment to the importance of confidentiality of records.
