Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled, collaborative, and client-focused Senior Associate or Junior Partner with significant experience in estate and wealth planning, and trust and estate administration. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and a compassionate, client-first approach to planning.
Preferred Location:
We are seeking candidates with an active license and in good standing to practice law in California.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise individuals, families, and business owners on complex estate and wealth transfer strategies and trust administrations.
- Draft and implement a wide range of estate planning documents, including revocable and irrevocable trusts (i.e., IDGTs, BDGTs, GRATs, and ILITs).
- Collaborate with CPAs, wealth advisors, and family office teams to ensure coordinated planning across disciplines.
- Identify and proactively advise on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues, as well as property tax issues.
- Proactively support the growth and success of the Burlingame office through strategic business development and relationship-building initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted resource and mentor to paralegals and associates by providing guidance, answering questions, and supporting their professional development.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school; strong academic record.
- 5-7+ years of relevant experience in estate planning and trust administration.
- Excellent drafting, analytical skills, and communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of advanced estate planning techniques as well as federal estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes.
- Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Commitment to client service and building trusted relationships.
- Proven ability to work with high-net-worth clients and navigate sensitive family dynamics.
- Experience with business development initiatives.
Preferred:
- Experience in business formation and maintenance.
- Experience with probate court petitions and federal estate tax and gift tax returns.

Target Base Salary Range: $200,000 - $300,000 annually. Compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors, including experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
