StudioBinder is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our engineering team.
StudioBinder builds production management software used by filmmakers, agencies, brands, and creative teams to plan and collaborate on productions. The platform helps teams write scripts, build shot lists, generate schedules and call sheets, and manage productions from development through shooting.
Alongside our platform, we run one of the largest educational resources in the production industry. Our blog reaches 1M+ readers each month, and our YouTube channel has over 2M+ subscribers.
If you enjoy building thoughtful products, solving technical challenges, and improving tools used by creators around the world, we’d love to hear from you.
As part of the engineering team, you’ll help build and maintain StudioBinder’s web application.
Your work will involve developing and improving both the front-end and back-end of our platform, contributing to features across the application stack, and ensuring the system remains scalable, secure, and performant.
You’ll collaborate with designers, product thinkers, and other engineers to refine ideas and implement features that help production teams plan and manage their work more efficiently.
Much of the role involves translating complex workflows into intuitive product features that support real-world production needs.
A typical day might begin by reviewing current tasks or features in GitHub, and joining a scrum meeting with the engineering team to discuss priorities.
From there, you may spend time implementing a new feature, improving an existing workflow, or debugging an issue within the application. Some parts of the day might involve refining API endpoints, adjusting database structures, or improving the front-end experience. Currently we're tackling projects that involve AI, SOC compliance, and other feature enhancements.
Later in the day, you might review pull requests, collaborate with teammates on implementation approaches, or work through edge cases that arise as new features take shape.
Some days are focused on building new capabilities, others on improving performance or reliability. The goal is always the same: ship clean, maintainable code that helps creators run their productions more effectively.
You might be a great fit if you:
-
Have 8+ years of experience building robust web applications
-
Are comfortable working across the full stack
-
Enjoys working on a small team where they can take ownership on new features
-
Comfortable with AI systems development (ComfyUI, Bedrock, OpenSearch, SQS Queues, Terraform setups, etc.)
-
Experienced with code documentation and implementing tests
-
Experience implementing enterprise compliant solutions such as GitLab CI Pipelines.
-
Have experience with technologies such as MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node.js, HTML5, and CSS
-
Understand application architecture, performance, and security considerations
-
Take ownership of your work and enjoy solving complex problems
Experience with AWS infrastructure or cloud-based systems is a strong plus.
If you're interested in the role, we’d love to hear from you.
Email us at [email protected] with your resume and a short cover letter. In your letter, please include:
-
A brief introduction about yourself and why you're interested in the role. If you have experience with filmmaking, video production, or StudioBinder, we’d love to hear about it.
-
Any features or improvements you think could increase adoption of StudioBinder. What’s missing or could be better?
-
Do you have any experience implementing AI systems (e.g. ComfyUI, Bedrock, OpenSearch, SQS Queues, Terraform setups, etc.). It's okay if you don't.
-
Any experience with real-time applications and web sockets? It's okay if you don't.
-
A software product you admire and what you think it does well from an engineering perspective.
