Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Concrete Finisher Laborer to join our construction team, focusing on finishing concrete surfaces and supporting various aspects of concrete work on commercial and residential projects. Duties
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, and shaping using hand trowels, floats, and power tools to achieve desired textures and finishes.
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to facilitate pouring and finishing processes.
- Assist with rebar installation, ensuring reinforcement is correctly placed according to schematics and blueprints.
- Prepare forms using carpentry skills such as trim carpentry, metal stud framing, or framing carpentry to support concrete placement.
- Support the installation of hardscape elements including paving stones, tiles, or other decorative concrete features.
- Read blueprints and schematics to interpret project specifications accurately.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks involving materials like concrete bags, rebar, formwork components, or equipment.
- Maintain a clean worksite by organizing tools and disposing of debris in accordance with safety protocols.
- Support restoration or renovation projects by applying plastering or stucco techniques as required.
- Operate power tools such as saws, drills, or caulking guns to assist in various construction tasks.
- Collaborate with team members across trades including masonry, framing, roofing, or flooring installation to ensure project cohesion.
- Follow safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents on site.
Experience
- Prior experience working on construction sites with a focus on concrete finishing or related trades such as masonry or carpentry.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to concrete mixers, pumps, or heavy equipment operation.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution.
- Hands-on experience with rebar installation, form building, or concrete pumping is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining endurance throughout long workdays involving overtime.
- Basic understanding of construction estimating principles is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience with renovation projects involving stucco or plastering techniques will be considered an advantage.
