SCOPE:
The Terminal Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repair tasks within the terminal facilities at Orlando Sanford International Airport. This role involves working on various building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, to ensure the terminal environment is safe, functional, and well-maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on terminal building systems, including
- HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, and general infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to terminal systems, including diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions.

Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment and systems.
Inspection and Monitoring:
- Conduct regular inspections of terminal facilities to identify Maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Monitor terminal building systems and equipment to detect any malfunctions or potential issues before they become critical problems.
- Document inspection findings and maintenance activities in accordance with airport procedures and standards.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety procedures and regulations while performing maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Adhere to relevant regulations, industry standards, and airport policies related to terminal maintenance and repairs.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to best practices for equipment handling and maintenance.
Operational Support:
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, including addressing urgent issues as they arise.
- Assist in the setup and coordination of Maintenance activities to minimize disruption to terminal operations.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to support overall facilities management and Maintenance goals.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of Maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment usage, and repair logs.
- Report on the status of Maintenance tasks, including any significant issues or developments, to the Terminal Maintenance Supervisor.
- Ensure proper documentation of Maintenance procedures and changes to facilitate effective
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in building Maintenance, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in building Maintenance or facilities management. Knowledge of terminal building systems Maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform Maintenance tasks with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using Maintenance tools, equipment, and standard office applications.
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
