Property Restoration Business Manager — Build Your Own Book of Business
Can You Build the Job AND Build the Business? If yes, keep reading as this is not a traditional restoration Project Manager position.
We're looking for the unusual combination: an experienced restoration/reconstruction Project Manager or Estimator who knows how to build the job — but wants more control over what he or she can build professionally.
If you've ever thought:
“I'm good at this. I know this business. Why should someone else determine my opportunities — or put a ceiling on what I can earn?”
This isn't about giving a Project Manager more work.
It's about giving a business-minded Project Manager more control.
Control over the relationships you develop.
Control over the opportunities you create.
Control over the business you build.
And ultimately, greater control over your earning potential.
You'll have the opportunity to build your own book of restoration business within an established company — without putting up the capital, making payroll, buying equipment or assuming the financial risk of starting a restoration company yourself.
You bring the construction knowledge, relationships, sales ability, confidence and drive. We provide the platform.
The Model Is SimpleFind it. Sell it. Estimate it. Build it. Collect it.
Not because we're trying to turn one job into five.
Because we don't believe a high-performing, entrepreneurial PM should be limited by the traditional PM model.
You'll have ownership of the business process from the relationship that creates the opportunity through the successful completion of the project.
With that control comes greater responsibility.
And substantially greater upside when you create results.
Our compensation structure is intentionally different from the traditional restoration PM model. High performers have the opportunity to earn substantially more because compensation rewards both the business they create AND the profitable work they successfully produce.
We Provide a Runway — Not a Safety Net
You won't start from zero.
Our existing restoration business, insurance relationships and TPA programs provide opportunities — particularly during your ramp-up — and you'll be expected to respond aggressively to those opportunities.
But make no mistake:
We're hiring someone who can hunt.
From day one, you'll be expected to develop referral relationships, pursue leads, ask for business and begin building your own pipeline.
The runway exists to accelerate you — not carry you.
If you're looking for a comfortable base salary and a steady supply of projects somebody else generates, this isn't your position.
But if you're thinking:
“Give me the platform and let me see what I can build.”
we should probably talk.
What You'll Own
- Generate new restoration and reconstruction business
- Build and maintain referral relationships with agents, adjusters, property managers, plumbers and other sources
- Respond to company-generated, insurance and TPA opportunities
- Inspect residential and commercial property losses
- Develop construction scopes and estimates using Xactimate
- Present, sell and secure restoration projects
- Negotiate estimates and scopes with insurance adjusters and carriers
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, materials and schedules
- Manage reconstruction projects from initial scope through completion
- Identify, estimate and negotiate legitimate supplemental work
- Maintain project quality, customer satisfaction and profitability
- Invoice completed projects and assist with final collections
- Maintain the relationships that create your next opportunity
You own the outcome. This Is Construction Restoration
We're specifically looking for someone who understands the reconstruction side of property-loss restoration.
You should understand how a damaged property gets put back together — drywall, paint, flooring, cabinetry, trim, framing, roofing, siding and the trades required to complete the project.
And entrepreneurial opportunity does not mean operational detachment.
Depending upon the loss, you may need to get on a roof, inspect an attic or crawl space, meet an adjuster onsite, work through a construction issue with a subcontractor or personally solve a problem necessary to move your project forward.
This is not a mitigation-only position. And it isn't a job where you drive around directing traffic.
Sales Is Part of Building the Business
We want to be completely transparent about this:
You cannot control your own growth if you depend entirely upon someone else to create your opportunities.
That's why business development is an important part of this position.
We're not talking about sitting behind a desk making cold calls all day.
We're talking about developing real relationships, creating trust, asking for opportunities, following up relentlessly, converting leads and making sure the people who can send restoration work think of you when the loss happens.
You don't view sales as simply another responsibility we've added to your PM job.
Sales is what gives you the ability to create your own opportunities rather than wait for ours.Who We're Looking For
You likely already work as a:
- Restoration Project Manager
- Reconstruction Project Manager
- Construction Project Manager
- Restoration or Reconstruction Estimator
- Insurance Restoration Project Manager
- Restoration Sales / Business Development professional with strong construction knowledge
You understand construction, insurance restoration, Xactimate estimating, supplements, carrier negotiations, subcontractor management, sales and project profitability.
Existing relationships with insurance agents, adjusters, property managers, plumbers, trades or other referral sources are a significant advantage.
But we're looking for more than experience.
We're looking for how you're wired.
You're highly confident in your ability to create business.
You're competitive.
You're resourceful.
You're persistent when others stop.
You hear “no” and start looking for another way forward.
You don't want someone else determining the ceiling on your success.
You're confident enough to bet on yourself — and humble enough to be coached.
Maybe you've considered starting your own restoration company.
Then you considered the capital, employees, payroll, insurance, equipment, systems, cash flow, overhead and risk involved in actually owning one.
What if you could gain much of the control and financial upside of building your own business — without carrying all of the burden of owning one?
That's what we've built.
If you're satisfied being a traditional Restoration or Construction Project Manager, there are plenty of good opportunities available.
But if you're frustrated by the limitations of that model — and believe you're capable of creating considerably more when given greater control over your own success — we should talk.
Don't just manage somebody else's book of business. Build yours. We'll provide the platform.
