Duties
- Provide attentive care to dogs and other pets housed in kennels or participating in daycare activities, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Assist with pet feeding, medication administration, and daily health monitoring to promote overall well-being
- Handle animals using gentle restraint techniques and proper handling skills to prevent stress or injury during grooming or medical procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces through thorough sanitization and organization to uphold health standards
- Engage pets in enrichment activities, playtime, and basic training exercises such as dog training techniques to promote mental stimulation
- Support pet boarding operations by managing check-ins, check-outs, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners
- Assist with outdoor work such as walking dogs, cleaning outdoor play yards, and ensuring secure fencing for outdoor safety
Requirements
- Prior experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, pet sitting, or kennel environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary assistant or veterinary technician practices is a plus
- Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when moving supplies or assisting with large dogs during cleaning or outdoor activities
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Experience with pet grooming, pet care facility sanitization, and animal behavior management is desirable
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as team lifting or outdoor work activities
