This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
The work schedule is Sunday through Wednesday, 7:00am-5:30pm.
The Park Maintenance Worker I works under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor. The reporting location for this position is the Samuel P. Taylor Maintenance Shop located at 8889 Sir Francis Drake, Lagunitas, CA.
This position is utilized to perform semi-skilled / journey level construction and facility maintenance repairs to construct, modify and maintain park facilities in a clean, safe, attractive, functional and efficiently operating condition. By doing so, this protects the states' investments and provides the visitors an enjoyable, safe and positive park experience. This position may act as a trainer and lead person to Park Maintenance Assistant's, Seasonal Maintenance classifications and Volunteers. Due to staffing levels, this position will act as support for other park maintenance operations throughout the Bay Area District.
This position is currently eligible for a Recruitment and Retention pay differential for the Greater Bay Area. This pay differential is five percent (5%) of the base pay for each qualifying pay period and is in addition to the posted monthly salary range.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in CCR 599.962.
This position is designated as not telework eligible.
