Duties
- Thoroughly wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of all food preparation areas, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces
- Follow food safety management protocols to ensure sanitation standards are consistently met
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, sinks, and manual handling tools
- Support food handling activities by assisting with basic food prep tasks when needed
- Adhere to restaurant health and safety standards by practicing proper manual handling and heavy lifting techniques
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of sanitation practices and food safety procedures is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently
- Strong attention to detail in cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or sinks is a plus
- Willingness to support various kitchen functions including bussing, food handling, and basic food prep tasks
